_Patriot Etienne Bernard Grave Marking -

The Fernando de Leyba SAR Chapter will mark the grave of Patriot Etienne Bernard at his gravesite in All Saints Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Peters.  The grave marking ceremony is planned for Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  The Missouri Society, SAR Color Guard will be participating.  The Saint Charles DAR Chapter will be participating.  Patriot Etienne Bernard served with the 1st Company, St. Louis Militia and was at the Battle of Fort San Carlos on May 26, 1780 in St. Louis.  He is one of the founders of the All Saints Catholic Church.  Etienne Bernard and Louise Langevin donated the land for the church, and Joseph Voisard and Elizabeth Denny donated the land for the cemetery.  The grave marking is part of the Church’s 200th Anniversary Celebration in 2023.  The Church faces Gatty Street but uses a side street (McMenamy Road) as their mailing address.
