Our 60th Anniversary - Diamond Jubilee - Early Settlers' Homes Tour II was held on Saturday, October 1st, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  This tour included the McClay (Cottle) Home, the Fort Zumwalt Home, the Darius Heald Home and the O'Fallon Log Cabin Museum.

Sixty-one guests attended the second Early Settlers’ Homes Tour and it brought in over $1200 of revenue.  All the homes were found to be interesting by our guests, since knowledgeable docents were available to answer questions and point out singular features of these structures.  In the case of the McClay (Cottle) home, most guests weren’t even aware of its presence before the tour since it has only recently been renovated and opened to the public as a wedding and meeting venue.  A lady who grew up in the home in the 1950s came all the way from Texas, with pictures, to help with the tour.
